10 Demonic Possession Movies Based on True Cases

9. The Changeling

During his time in the Henry Treat Rogers Mansion, Denver, Colorado, Russell Hunter was disturbed by strange noises and ghosts. This very scary film tells this tale without missing a thing.

The architecture and low rent of this isolated mansion attracted the playwright and musician, but the paranormal occurrences he witnessed changed everything. He soon discovered a secret room and the diary of a boy who had supposedly been trapped. These prompted him to seek a medium. While the house was being demolished in the 1970s, an explosion occurred which caused the death of one of the bulldozer operators.

10. The Conjuring

Ed and Lorraine Warren again helped another family who had been haunted by Bathsheba, a Satanist who had occupied the Arnold Estate in the earlier part of the 19th century. Roger and Carolyn Perron loved the serene setting of their estate until they began to witness several paranormal incidences.

Carolyn had been possessed by the spirit of this Satanist, but with the help of these reputable ghost hunters, Bathsheba was exorcised. At last, the family left the home.

With the witnesses of Andrea Perron and Lorraine Warren, James Wan was able to put Ed Warren’s true tale into this film.
In all, many of the stories around these films were (and are still) strongly believed to be true. With ghost hunters, interviews with victims, and other records, many of these strange events can be marked for truth. Does this send goosebumps up your skin?
